A Vietnamess lady might have some understanding of Chinese cultruer or fortune telling skikks, especially you were led by your local customers.
Also, I wouldn't be so surprised if she can speak a little bit Chinese then.
The custom in Amsterdam and an African American in San Fransisco Wharf can easily tell you are Chinese and feed you some lines too.
